Iv been playing spore for the first time and just got to the Space age the other day. However Im having alot of trouble figuring out exactly how the hell you colonize a planet? I was doing the task they get you to do so you learn, and they said to me they were giving me basic tools to colonize, but I cant see anything in my cargo?
Also, please explain how on earth the spice works, how do I get it? Is it only through returning home?Help with Spore Space age and colonization?
Don't know if you found out how to do any of this yet.
But basically each planet produces spice, from most to least common there are 6 kinds of spice
Red,Yellow, Blue, Pink, Green, Purple Spices.
When you first start out, you may have to "hop" to various stars where there are planets which are too hot or cold and cannot be "terraformed" yet.
Basically you need a colony pod (which you get your first one free from your homeworld), and then you should disregard whatever the Homeworld governor says, and find at least a T1 or T2 type world that you can colonize that has a different color spice than your homeworld.

Most homeworlds have Red spice, so you likely will want to find at least a Yellow spice world. Make friends (as much as possible) with your immediate neighbors and REALLY try to avoid wars if possible.
Wars (at least early on) are both hard to fight and make the game much less fun.
Finding a suitable colony world is tricky but worth it - especially early on, since there aren't alot of other terraforming tools available.
