How can I easily find a specific item in Spore (space stage)?

It's a real pain when you have to do something like increase the temp. on a planet, but can't find the tools to do it even after searching hundreds of solar systems for like an hour.... there's GOTTA be an easier/faster way to find the right equipment, instead of searching every planet in Spore?



Also, is there a faster way to find the highest bidder for a certain item?

Do missions and keep terraforming until you earn enough badges to unlock new tools. Later you'll be offered multi-use tools like "Refrigeration Ray" and "Heat Ray" for temperature as well as other ones for pressure. You need the Empire 3 badge or the Terra-Wrangler 3 badge, then you can buy these tools from most planets.How can I easily find a specific item in Spore (space stage)?
