When Im Terraforming a Planet, It Says I Need To "ADD A FACTORY"

Whats a Factory (in spore) and how do i get it??Spore Space Stage Help?
How'd you make it past the civilization stage without knowing what a factory is?Spore Space Stage Help?
It says you need to add a factory in the tutorial part, take note you don't need to add a Factory to every planet you terraform. Then again, that's the only way you'll make money.
