Why is my computer freezing in Spore? (Space Stage only)?

Randomly flying through space in the Space Stage in Spore, my Spore Application will freeze. When I try to quit it, (or restart my computer or start task manager) it has my computer freeze as well.

Now I want to know how I can fix this blasted problem!



I Have vista, and the recommended system requirements (higher), along with my updated drivers and registry cleansed.



Keep in mind I played the game all the way up to Space Stage on medium to high graphics and I switched around the graphic levels and screen size resolution and they had no effect.

Turn on the task manager first and then load in Spore paying attention to the physical memory usage history graph in the performance tab. If it is running more than half way up the scale mean you have low RAM memory. Until the space stage you may have had enough to run the program but adding other worlds to the program may just push it over the edge. That is the most likely problem. I have had the same problem. No idea what is wrong. I too am running Vista/64 bit with 2 gig of ram, so I don't think it is memory. The system freezes when leaving from a planet to the solar system view. What is funny is that sometimes I can drop back down to the planet and still do things on the planet.
