Well, It might be faulty hardware or faulty installation. You might want to do a reinstall. just backup your saved games and reinstall it. Also you might want to try and download some patches for it. 1. No there is nothing you can do to build more armies, once you are in the space stage, you can, however build turrets to defend your cities. Also later in the game, you can buy the Uber Turret, which defends the entire planet.

At that point, you have a t-1 planet, and you can build a more productive colony, that means adding buildings. You use the aforementioned Terraforming tools to ultimately move the little red dot into the center of the bullseye. Each time you pass a ring and get closer towards the center, you get the opportunity to add another set of plants, and animals, followed by another colony after you complete the food chain. You can build up to three colonies per planet, plus spice storage.

Anyone no a quick way to get badges in spore(im in the space stage)?
Yes - and not even using cheats! Trainers from www.cheathappens.com, I was kind of iffy about the idea about using a trainer thinking they would have viruses or spyware or something. I downloaded and got all badges. You can't get the hidden ones tho, but everything else you can! The game doesn't register the use of the trainer as a cheat so it's all good.Anyone no a quick way to get badges in spore(im in the space stage)?

Space Age on Spore Question?
Now is it just me, or is the only way to attack another planet through military by using your ship and allies and bombing each individual city until they give up or you conquer it? I know you can pay someone to do it, but that's not what I'm asking about. Whenever someone else attacks your planet, they send a huge armada, and on civilization stage you can send huge armies. Why can't you send a huge army in Space Age? Is this some sort of achievement I haven't gotten, or is it not possible, because I'm getting annoyed with not being able to dominate other planets.Space Age on Spore Question?

The only difference that occurs in Space Stage when you install Galactic Adventures is that, when you do missions for other empires, you may embark on an adventure. This may be problematic for you if you do a lot of missions, as some missions are very hard. But if missions are not your playing style, then don't worry about it.
Either way, you never "finish" Space Stage, unless you mean achieving the Staff of Life. But the space stage never "ends"

After you complete that you need to carry on going to different galaxies and completeing the planets. There are loads of galaxies with LOTS planets in them.

i'm only a admiral. The only weapons i have are the weak laser and weak proton missiles. I'm at war with the duckulon empire, and they repeatedly attack my home planet every five minutes. I can never destroy one of their colonies because i get blasted by 20 ships as soon as i enter the planet. My allies never come to help me. Any possible way to get a huge fleet of ships at my home planet to attack with or any ways to have my allies help me in a war, please tell me. What you need to do is to beef up on resources like money and weapons because it will also help you in defending your Empire. I'm stuck in the space level in Spore!?
I used a cheat and now i cant find a crash site (the first mission). it sends me to a planet that looks just like Earth called Pelus. it says to look for crash site but there is none.

Using cheats in Spore does cause some problems to the gameplay (only the one your playing that you did the cheat in). You should restart if its not there. Remember don't use cheats in Spore. At least you were at the begining.

Spore (PC game) crashes in space stage?

I have spore (it's pirated, my friend only lent me.)
But he said it was fully functional, until I found something.
In creature stage, the game constantly crashes every 30-40 minutes, so i need to save and quit and re-open it. I just took the annoyance off my mind and reached space stage...
another crash.
When I have completed all the commander's basic missions, then next the commander asked me what missions I'd like.
I chose to terraform, and then the message goes on and on.
I then flew to an uncharted planet then the problem starts. The screen flickers big black triangles (the 1st point of the triangle is at the most top-left corner of the screen, 2nd is at the lower left, then the 3rd is at the center.). (This problem started from the creature stage up to the space stage. FYI) Then after several flickers of those triangles, the game freezes (it doesn't even return to the desktop! sh*t!)
I then have to unplug the computer because I can't even get the mouse and keyboard running.
Then when I start Spore again it just continues on and on and on. Irritating! i can't do the usual routing of save-quit-reopen because it immediately crashes when I land on the uncharted planet. It also requires saving in the solar system, not the planet.
Please help!

They can be very expensive, but You can get a really nice one off ebay for a really good price. Another thing that you can do is change the graphical quality on the game... to do this- open spore, go to options, and change all of the qualities to low. Downloading patches wont do anything, ive tried it.

The same thing happen to me, its probably the disc will not read full because that was my issue even tho I had a brand new laptop the game would only allow me to play certain times, Sims 3 and other great games let me load but this one is just a no check your software just in case and if that does not work contact spore.

So I just started playing this game spore, and I really liked it, up until I got to the space level. EVERY SINGLE TIME I ADD ANOTHER COLONY OR SPEND 1,000,000 TO BUY ANOTHER PLANET, IT GETS TAKEN OVER BY THIS ONE SPECIES WHO HAS A WAR WITH ME CUS I DIDN'T GIVE THEM 1,600,000 DOLLARS WHEN THEY ASKED ME TO!!!! Spore (PC) Space Stage Question?
I am playing my creature all the way up to the space stage glitch, bug, and problem free. Well i get to the space stage use a preused space ship i made then i skip the tutorial cause i already know how to use it. Then i get the mission to go to a neiboring planet and scan the downed alien spacecraft, i go to it i skip the cut scene and BOOM! problem, the radar is not picking up the downed ship and i can teven manually find it on the planet.
I reload from the civ stage and i redo it, now i watch all the cuts scenes and go to the planet again now in the cut scene it goes up to the point in the scene where you should see the downed ship that the radar located well at that point instead of showing it the screen goes black and has a weird glay-black grid in the background. I'm currently in the space stage and I have the mission from my colony to sell spice to other colonies. My leader mentioned that I can get spice from my own colonies by visiting them. And here's my problem: When I am near my colonies I don't get any spice in my cargo bay. How do I solve this so I can continue? (Step by Step guide would be great!) Why am I experiencing Blue Screen of Death when running Spore in the space age?
Hi,
I have posted a previous question regarding spore and the blue screen of deaths that I have been receiving. Now the reason why I am posting this question is because I think I now know what is causing my pc to experience these errors and I have copied my saved games, files, etc from spore, so I have evidence and a means of repeating this problem when I take my laptop to the repair guys in flint.
Now, this is my problem. Ever since I bought spore, I have been experiencing BSOD whilst playing in the space age. I first experienced these errors whilst playing on my PC, which is now offline because of the 5 blue sceens of death that I experienced on it. Now these problems normally occur when I reach the space age on spore, meaning that the game is very stable and playable up to that point. The only difference is that my pc experienced these blue screens of death 2 weeks after I first bought spore, so for 2 weeks I was able to play the game and a lot of the space age till it happened one night.
My laptop on the other hand experienced its first %26amp; second blue screen of death 10-20 min after I reached the space age. Maybe the reason why my pc took ages for it to experience this problem was due to its hardware being failry new when compared to my laptop remains a mystery, but its possible.
Anyway, when I first experienced a BSOD on my my laptop, I first thought that I was the main reason for the problem because before continuing my saved game on spore, I had downloaded and installed a patch (upgrade) for spore from the official EA site. This is why I first thought that it was caused by this patch because as soon as I had upgraded it, WHAM! BSOD. However, when it happened again to me yesterday, my laptop had just been wiped and I hadn't installed any uprades for spore and any other downloads onto my laptop. It was clean, so there were no other causes for this to have happened to me that point out that it wasn't spore related. What I do know for sure is that I always get these BSOD when my spore is connected to spore's main online server. Oh by the way, incase you are thinking that it has something to do with my internet connection, don't worry because my internet is broadband and it is new, so I doubt that it is connection/modem related. Besides, I used to play WoW on my laptop and have never experienced BSOD. Infact I have never ever experienced BSOD until I bought Spore.
Now, when I first installed Spore on my laptop, I got a message saying that my laptop's vid driver was outdated, so this prompted me to try and update my drivers. However and this is another problem that I don't understand. Everytime I try to update my drivers, which are nearly 8 years old since the drivers on my laptop are 2001, I keep getting messages saying that my drivers are up to date and that there are no other drivers available online to update them. Now I find this very hard to believe because if I'm getting messages from my Spore saying that my vid driver is obsolete and that my game may become unstable or experience problems because of this that I'm getting opposite messages from my drivers saying that they are up to date? This simply doesn't add up. In fact, how come I try to update my drivers, on this laptop and my other PC's, that I get the same results?
Anyway, if my drivers are truly obsolete, which spore says it is and if because of this that they are causing my system to experience Blue Screen of Death, then how do I go about to upgrade my drivers when everytime I try to update my drivers through device manager it fails to find new up to date drivers? In other words, what should I do and are there other alternatives to updating drivers through device manager?
If there are other ways of resolving this problem, then I would greatly appreciate it. Also, please do not suggest fixing this problem through online software i.e. reg cleaner etc that isn't free. I will not pay for a product that requires me to subscribe just to fix a problem. Also, when I did take up suggestions to use reg cleaner, I scanned my system and it said that I have 500+ problems on my laptop, whilst another online software said that I had 1300+ problems on my laptop. How can this be when I have only just wiped my system? It doesn't add up and that's why I won't use these softwares again.
Anyway I hope that this info will be enough for you to understand my BSOD problems, but if you need further info, then please let me know for I have error logs and print screens to prove that I'm not lying.

Can you post the details of your laptop so we can see whether it fulfils the minimum requirement to play spore
we need make model memory video chip etc
In general laptops do not make great gaming platforms and looking at spore's system requirements it seems fairly picky. Your laptop is 7 years old makers tend to stop producing driver updates after a certain time, so you may be stuck. You may find an updated generic driver for your laptop, but these tend to be buggy as they would not be specifically written for your laptop
Additionally no software claims to be bug free and as you are getting BSODs on both your machines you may have to rely on a bug fix from spore - if enough people complain.Why am I experiencing Blue Screen of Death when running Spore in the space age?

The thing is if you cheated any progress you did after that basically won't count. You will notice that you haven't made any new achievements. I had to learn this the hard way too. I sorta cheated on creature once and went all the way up to Space when I learned about this. I had to start all over. ive just started playing spore again and i get up the the space age then my pc crashes, i dont think its the ram or anything, but it may be the video card as i have had problems with it before.

mine kinda crashes it will like freeze for about 5 - 10 minutes but i just wait and it comes back. Most likely the problem i had was ram so if this is whats happening to you either get more ram or just wait 5 - 10 minutes. its probably not your video card or you wouldn't run it in the first place.

Spore Space Age...Help Me Beat GROX?
Okay, I ignored the Grox for a long time and just flew around raining fiery genocide on all of the aliens on my side of the universe for a while. After I got bored of doing that I flew into the nearest warphole and met the Grox.
My problem is that THEY HAVE TOO MANY @($%26amp;#^!($ PLANETS! I looked online for tips and just found out that you could use terraforming to wipe out cities (wish I'd know that earlier, it could have came in handy). But these guys have like, 200+ planets that are all level 0 and some of them have colonies on more than one planet in a solar system. (God I went to one that had 4 planets with Grox colonies on them.)
I've got like a hundred or so level 3 planets and they all have the best defenses I could give them so I'm not worried about attacks from them.
I'm just getting REALLY bored of wiping out Grox on these stupid uninhabitable rocks. Anyway, my question is, "If I manage to SOMEHOW find the Grox motherplanet and reduce it to dust, will they all die?" I know that they'll just make their next most decent planet their "capital" or whatever but, if they have no other colonies except for ones on level 0 planets will they be extinct?!
Also, is there an easy way to find out where their home planet is?Spore Space Age...Help Me Beat GROX?
The grox are unique in that they can *only* survive on level 0 planets, so you can still terraform their planets but you actually have to make them *more* capable of sustaining life.
And as far as finding their home, that should be simple... Just head toward the center of the galaxy :)

are you just scanning it or are you picking it up with your tractor beam? because scanning it is not enough. you have to go to your ships cargo tab and click on the button for your tractor beam on the far left. Then you click on the creature and hold and it will pick them up into your ship. Then you go back to the planet you were sent from. Then go back o your cargo tab. You should find the creature in your cargo. herbivores have a regular paw print as their icon, carnivores have a clawed paw print. You can also pick up tees and plants. you can't save whilst on a planet, simply zoom out into space and you should be able to save :)

It's much, much easier to set up alliances/trade routes and colonize other planets for their spice.
Hint: The best colors of spice to mine are usually Purple, Pink and Green in that order.

how do i get the other traits like zealot and ecologist, as when i get past civ stage i only get, trader if eco, shaman is religion, and warrior if millitary. anyone know how to get the others?Spore space stage traits?
Your initial trait is determined by the combination of ways you created previous stages. It will look at them all and determine which is the best match.
You can change your traits if you like. Become good friends with a race with a trait you want (which is determined by their philosophy.) Once you are allied there should be a diplomatic option that will allow you to change to their philosophy, which will remove your current trait and replace it with theirs.lady gaga born this way album battlefield 1943
Your initial trait is determined by the combination of ways you created previous stages. It will look at them all and determine which is the best match.
You can change your traits if you like. Become good friends with a race with a trait you want (which is determined by their philosophy.) Once you are allied there should be a diplomatic option that will allow you to change to their philosophy, which will remove your current trait and replace it with theirs.

Spore space stage is it creepy?
I'm bored so i'm just asking did any of you find the music creepy like looking at a gas giant close up from a moon or when you terraform a planet so it boils and you get the same music you got when the sea monster ate you.Spore space stage is it creepy?
i will tell you that when the sea monster ate me it caught me off guard and scared me a little but ive played well into the space stage and of course the music is sort of repetitive, but nothing scary or creepy. i personally think space stage was designed well and could only be better if your ally's wouldnt ask for help every 5 minutes.

SPORE Space Mission SOS!!?
I'm in the Space stage and well, I'm doing this mission (You gotta find three pieces of a grail artifact and deliver them back to the planet) and they give you a list of the three planets you can find the pieces and I got the first two and on the third planet (Rayle) I found an artifact (a tablet piece) and it had nothing to do with the mission but the radar wasn't picking anything up. I went back through all three of the planets with no luck. I just can't find that third piece! Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can help me? Thanks!SPORE Space Mission SOS!!?
This happend to me as well. On one of those missions, I apparently picked up a wrong artifact. I ended up going back to all the planets and found it. All I can say is try checking again. Make sure that you don't confuse the lines pointing at the artifact planets with the lines pointing at the planet you need to delive them to. The planets with the lines that have arrows in them are pointing toward the artifacts. It's sometimes hard to see if you're zoomed out.SPORE Space Mission SOS!!?

Spore - Space Stage: To many colony attacks?
OK! Hello there everyone I have recently given up on Spore for the night, for one reason. ATTACKS! Every 3-4 minutes about three of my colonies will be attacked. By the time I have collected money after the defeats there is another attack. I see that I haven't progressed much in the last hour, because I have only maybe 10 minutes an hour to earn badges. I am up to the last section, so I know it is supposed to be hard but it is too Much for me! I can't take it! I can't get enough money to buy out my enemies, so I am stuck in an endless loop of boring UFO blasting.
Does anyone know how to stop these constant attacks? I can't take it any more! I am prepared to cheat, but not to restart my game.

Spore Space Stage Freeze?
I've had issues with Spore for awhile. I've been unable to update my game, but recently got it to work. I've updated to the latest patch, 1.5, but still have my original issue. When I'm flying about the galaxy I have no issue, but occasionally when I zoom into a planet, and fly around the game completely locks up. Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work, Alt-Tab is unresponsive, the mouse doesn't move. The only thing that I can do is a hard boot. Please help. Its really frustrating.Spore Space Stage Freeze?

Lol! Love the way you phrased that question! Umm the only game I can think of that would be like it, would be Eve online..it has a free trial but then you have to pay a monthly fee after the trial. The good news is you can spend the credits you earn in game and buy your game time with the in-game credits. Wont hurt to check it out, anyways good luck!

To my understanding, this stage isn't really meant to be completed, per se. If you've filled the progress bar, that's pretty much it. This stage is designed to allow you to continue to play for as long as you like.
And, I imagine you've found the Grox at the center of the galaxy. You beat them very much like any other civ. 1 planet at a time. I seem to recall that their settlements can be destroyed by terraforming it to the point that life can be supported, so that one trick. They've got a ton of planets in their possession though, so this will probably take a while.
Here's what one guides lists for completion of this stage:

Spore: How can I check if an animals is carnivore/herbivore/omnivore during the space stage?
if you mean the little animals on the planets use the scan tool. this is found in the main tool tab (the gear) but if you mean the animal that you created it doesn't matter. because in the space stage the "hunger meter" is power storage and you recharge instead of eat.

On Spore on space stage, i have 3 enemies (for not paying them) and one of them keeps on attacking my home world, i don't get a chance to do missions or attack back, they have already destroyed 4 of my cities! please help me! its getting annoying, do i try and befriend or do i attack, whats best? How far are you in the game? What kind of captain are you?
Obviously, this is a key issue in your empire and doing anything else will have to wait. Put your attention on this.
OPTION ONE
If you have advanced weaponry, a lot of health, or both, attack their colonies. NOT their home planet. If you're lucky, they might give up. That'd be rare, though. Once all their colonies are gone, take out their home planet. It'll be hard unless you have good bombs. If I can make a suggestion, fly directly over the center of the city and aim your bombs at the city hall. If you only have the mini laser you started out with... oy. good luck. Destroying all the empire's cities and colonies will destroy the empire, and cease the attacks.
OPTION TWO
If you are not equipped for war, you'll need to try to befriend them. If you go to talk to them and you cannot, your only option is to bribe them or take the damage. You could also try to use one of your strong allies by asking them to attack that empire.

but if you pissed them off to the negative 100s then you might have to get prepared for war.
this can get you the best of allies to counter off foes
The raider rally doesn't really help much. Your best bet at this point is to take the war to them. Find the home world of the one that is attacking and kill all the cities. It will be the one with a bright circle. Then don't build on it. Just let it go. The other thing you can do is to make friends by paying money. If you are trying to gain achievements www.cheathappens.com has a trainer you can get that lets you use cheats while still getting achievements. It works great.

I hated that there I couldn't really *enjoy* space with all the ecodisasters and pirate raids. I found a mod that actually makes the time between these attacks/disasters a LOT longer. I know some people hate the idea of a mod, but you are right - every minute and a half something is wrong! I hated that there I couldn't really *enjoy* space with all the ecodisasters and pirate raids. I found a mod that actually makes the time between these attacks/disasters a LOT longer. im always getting attacked at my base by multiple ships that have mini ships on them! in only by myself and sometimes i have 2 ally ships with me. i have about 3 stars and im using the laser weapon and am at war with 3 countries and am getting attacked about every 3 minutes. is there something i can do or something im missing?In Spore: Space Stage: is there something i'm missing?
Technically there is something you can do to stop the constant attacks and eco-disasters. I hated when that happened, every 5 min something happened and really couldn't enjoy Space. I, at first, didn't even want to think about it but when I started to read the last description - it increases minimum time between attacks and eco-disasters from "15 minutes to 2 hours" I was like "Yes, that what I want!" I swear it doesn't have any viruses or anything like that (that freaked me out to, that I might be downloading a trojan or something) I simply copy-pasted it to where it said, and now I can *enjoy* Space a whole lot more.

All enemy invasions (save perhaps pirates) have those mini-ships. The thing is, the big ship is a bomber, it will not attack you directly, it is going to try to attack your cities. Those really low hit-point ships are fighter coverage. Approach the big ship and destroy the fighters first, then you can take the big ship at your leisure.
What you can do is get a better weapon. Since you've been getting into a lot of fights, you might want to check your store and see if there are any new weapons for sale. The laser is a precision weapon, who's number one use is attacking specific things on the ground without causing collateral damage. (Eco-rescue and assassination mission).
You want to get the missile weapon as soon as possible, this tends to pop the early fighters in a single hit. Also look at the turret weapon, which will automatically shoot at anything that shoots at you. Even the pulse weapon is better against ships than the laser. It doesn't shoot as fast, btu does considerably more damage.
I'd also try to end a couple of your wars. Try to keep it to one at a time if you can. To make your enemy sue for peace, start attacking his planets. After they lose a system or two most hostile aliens will contact you with an offer of peace.
If possible try to pay the planets you're at war with to slow down the attacks and try to focus on one at a time. This won't make all attacks go away. Pirates, Grox, etc will still attack stuff).

My friend and I both got Spore the day it was released. I have evolved into space mode, and he is in tribal mode. How do I seek out his planet? I know you can do it because when I was in tribal mode I saw UFOs all the time made by other users. Why is my computer freezing in Spore? (Space Stage only)?
Randomly flying through space in the Space Stage in Spore, my Spore Application will freeze. When I try to quit it, (or restart my computer or start task manager) it has my computer freeze as well.
Now I want to know how I can fix this blasted problem!
I Have vista, and the recommended system requirements (higher), along with my updated drivers and registry cleansed.
Keep in mind I played the game all the way up to Space Stage on medium to high graphics and I switched around the graphic levels and screen size resolution and they had no effect.

Monolith Problem in Spore Space Stage?
I used a Monolith in the Space Stage in Spore (computer game) on a Tribal Planet. It said that they had been upgraded to the Civilization Stage, but when I went there to use another monolith to bring them to the Space Stage, all I found were five or so destroyed cities ( like the ones you found on your first mission, when you have to fight those easy Security Drones.

Spore Space Stage Galactic Adventures question?
I recently bought Spore and the Galactic Adventures expansion, and as a newbie I decided to be a friendly critter with almost no built-in weapons.
This seemed to work out for me until I started getting the adventure missions in space stage where you beam down and play the game just like you did in creature stage.
Having no built in weapons really doesn't help since the majority of the missions involve you needing to destroy multiple enemies at a time.
So basically, my question is: Is it possible to get extra weapons for your character for these adventure missions?
I revisited that port to try to buy some weapons, except I can only do the tutorial over and over again.
Any help / advice would be great.

You can add ad-ons to your captain as you gain experience by doing more adventures. Everytime you complete and adventure, your captain gains experience, and once you reach a certain level, you can unlock a new part to add to your captain. This can be a weapon, a health boost, a speedy boost, and several other things. You can gain up to ten levels per captain, giving you 10 items out of many which you can unlock. To do missions, just open up Spore, go to the Galactic Adventures tab instead of playing the actual game, and play adventures from there. Try chosing adventures that don't involve combat, as that's what you need help in.
You can also download more adventures from the Spore website:

Just login, chose the adventures that appeal to you, and click the yellow "download" button found on the info page of each adventure.

Spore: Space Age Too Hard?
Well I started a game in spore and found out that the game is incredibly easy ...up until the space stage. cell stage is like playing a 3d pacman, creature, tribe, and civ stage is all extremely easy it gets booring. Then I get the space age and it's just crazy hard! And I have no idea what the hell I'm doing! Youd think there'd be some tutorial. All the terrascore, spices ,colonizations and invaders confuse me. But the worst this is is that my colonies are constantly under attack and I have to run and defend them all then i die cause i only got 2 ships and they die super quick. and then moving anywhere around to other stars i always get attacked. and spice build so slow. The games so aggrevating. I respawn and die over and over and over. In an hour of play i must die over 100 times. What am i supposed to do? Despite all the other stages being way too easy like creature stage. They were at least fun for a while.Spore: Space Age Too Hard?

unfortunately you're absolutely right. at this stage with just 2 ships it's like i'm getting nowhere! i don't understand how come my colonies can't defend themselves and why should they get attacked every 1 to 3 minutes?! and i really feel the need for a list of stars so that i could find my way back to a specific system whenever necessary without having to go through a lot of trouble and headache!

Don't use the modify code. It gives you the Joker emblem as it knows you've changed it from what I've heard Don't advance after 3 colonies until they are built up with numerous turrets. Get trade routes between a few nearby aliens.
What is ridiculous is the complete inbalance in the space age. It's like a poor mans Railway Tycoon.
I found the game to be an interesting experiment, but would have loved to have seen it before Will Wright sold out and produced another cash cow for EA.
What I do hope happens is this game is a stepping stone for a developer who sees Spore's potential and makes a simulation for a smaller portion of the gamer population. Blade Runner as opposed to Independance Day.Spore: Space Age Too Hard?
Hi, I have a few tips that should help you. I'm currently playing on Hard so they will definitely work
1. Take your time! My first game frustrated me so much because I was constantly dumping colonies and capturing new ones, you have to take it slow and beware of spreading your resources too thin. Aim for a few colonies for each colour of spice, but don't go above 8 colonies for the first few hours you are playing.
2. Ally with as many races as possible, try to create buffer zones where possible. rather than spending 1mil+ on a new colony, you can get the same results by simply doing a couple of missions with a nearby race
3. Uber-Turrets are your best friend! After around 4 hours of play you should unlock this, make sure you buy them from allies in order to keep the expense down. Buy them as much as you can, and systematically put one on every colony you own. Then you can concentrate on building up colonies productivity/turret levels, as any time you are alerted to an attack, you can simply ignore it, I have never lost a planet with an uber-turret attatched.
4. After about 5-8 hours of game-time, your fully upgraded colonies are basically a license to print money. You will have learnt where is best to sell each resource type. Whenever you are short on cash, simply do a trading tour of your empire. At this stage in the game I am able to turn a barren planet into a 3-colony resource mill with every colonisation extra in a few minutes with money to spare.
Just remember, the first few hours of this game are like slowly freeing your hands from being tied around your back, once you have succeeded the universe stops becoming a grind and starts becoming really fun. It's a shame the game was designed like this, but I think it's worth doing regardless.
I think the easiest way to figure things out is the Spore Game Guide. Click the Spore Menu (the swirly round button on the bottom-left) and the Spore Guide is there. It really is helpful and informative on your first tentative steps into the galaxy and beyond.
Here are a few of my own tips:
Info about Terrascores, etc. can easily be found in the Spore Guide.
An important step early on is to make alliances. More allies means less enemies. Make an extra effort to befriend the empires that are close to your home and colony worlds. This way you surround yourself in "safe space", or space owned by your allies. This will allow you to move relatively freely in the areas around your home.
The reason you get attacked when you move to other stars probably means you are inside the territory of an enemy, and this probably means you aren't in friendly space, which means you need to make alliances. Allies, allies, allies. You can kill them all later when you're more powerful.
Your spice productivity is probably low because the cities aren't at peak productivity. Zoom in onto the cities and make sure that they produce at least 1.00 spice every hour. If not, add more factories (but don't forget your lessons in the city planner about happiness). Don't forget to sell the spice to other planets, too! Some empires will pay more for a certain spice than others.
Usually they give extra information about the star system when you're on missions. Click on the long blue button with dots on it. A screen should pop-up, giving you more detailed instructions. e.g. "The Goober system is located near the red star Flunkus."

Don't use the modify code. It gives you the Joker emblem as it knows you've changed it from what I've heard Don't advance after 3 colonies until they are built up with numerous turrets. Get trade routes between a few nearby aliens.
What is ridiculous is the complete inbalance in the space age. It's like a poor mans Railway Tycoon.
I found the game to be an interesting experiment, but would have loved to have seen it before Will Wright sold out and produced another cash cow for EA.

Hi, I have a few tips that should help you. I'm currently playing on Hard so they will definitely work
1. Take your time! My first game frustrated me so much because I was constantly dumping colonies and capturing new ones, you have to take it slow and beware of spreading your resources too thin. Aim for a few colonies for each colour of spice, but don't go above 8 colonies for the first few hours you are playing.
2. Ally with as many races as possible, try to create buffer zones where possible. rather than spending 1mil+ on a new colony, you can get the same results by simply doing a couple of missions with a nearby race
3. Uber-Turrets are your best friend! After around 4 hours of play you should unlock this, make sure you buy them from allies in order to keep the expense down. Buy them as much as you can, and systematically put one on every colony you own. Then you can concentrate on building up colonies productivity/turret levels, as any time you are alerted to an attack, you can simply ignore it, I have never lost a planet with an uber-turret attatched.
4. After about 5-8 hours of game-time, your fully upgraded colonies are basically a license to print money. You will have learnt where is best to sell each resource type. Whenever you are short on cash, simply do a trading tour of your empire. At this stage in the game I am able to turn a barren planet into a 3-colony resource mill with every colonisation extra in a few minutes with money to spare.
Just remember, the first few hours of this game are like slowly freeing your hands from being tied around your back, once you have succeeded the universe stops becoming a grind and starts becoming really fun. It's a shame the game was designed like this, but I think it's worth doing regardless.
I think the easiest way to figure things out is the Spore Game Guide. Click the Spore Menu (the swirly round button on the bottom-left) and the Spore Guide is there. It really is helpful and informative on your first tentative steps into the galaxy and beyond.
Here are a few of my own tips:

An important step early on is to make alliances. More allies means less enemies. Make an extra effort to befriend the empires that are close to your home and colony worlds. This way you surround yourself in "safe space", or space owned by your allies. This will allow you to move relatively freely in the areas around your home.
The reason you get attacked when you move to other stars probably means you are inside the territory of an enemy, and this probably means you aren't in friendly space, which means you need to make alliances. Allies, allies, allies. You can kill them all later when you're more powerful.
Your spice productivity is probably low because the cities aren't at peak productivity. Zoom in onto the cities and make sure that they produce at least 1.00 spice every hour. If not, add more factories (but don't forget your lessons in the city planner about happiness). Don't forget to sell the spice to other planets, too! Some empires will pay more for a certain spice than others.
Usually they give extra information about the star system when you're on missions. Click on the long blue button with dots on it. A screen should pop-up, giving you more detailed instructions. e.g. "The Goober system is located near the red star Flunkus."

I have 42000 in cash and the empire i am at war with is currently destroying my home planet. They have already destroyed 6 of the 10 cities I had there. I am horrible at fighting with the space ship, and only have two attacks to use. I can only have one ally with me, and I am usually fighting 1 v 5. A SPORE Space Stage question...?
My friend (Real life) was telling me about an 'Inter-Galactic' space drive, where he could jump through different galaxies. I have played SPORE for a good 4 years and I have never seen this 'Inter-Galactic Drive'. I've gotten up to Drive #5, then I saw that it repeated but I thought it was a glitch. Problem with spore black screen in space mode?
my screen goes black when i exit the planet in space mode. i can see the HUD, but not the planets or anything. then i scroll in and i can see the terrain and stuff on the planet im on and it seems fine.

Decent game by the way. then select "can you run it" button. and that should do it. as long as you pass the minimum pass you should be fine. Just if you are really close to that line i'd drop the graphics down all the way in the game. help it run smoother.

You need to buy a "monolith" and put it on a planet that has a civilization that isn't in space stage, they generally have a few it has a fire looking icon beside the creature that "owns" the planet. The monolith is like a big stone with a circle in the middle.

Upgrading my space ship in spore?

But my guess is that you either forgot to scan something, you didn't complete the mission in time, or the game just had a glitch. Well, it depends almost entirely upon how you play.
If you play as an aggressive race, I imagine the space game could be quite hard.

Beating the Grox, is - not something you do with firepower. I imagine that will tremendous patience you could clear them from a sector of space, but they would always attack you.
Similarly, there are some goals / things you can do in the Space Game but it doesn't end.
- Maxing out your colonies for money
- Getting to the "Core" / Dealing with the Grox
- Finding Earth
- Finding the Cube-world
- Earning different badges - such as the alliance between two creatures that you create.
- Finding some remote / empty section of the galaxy and terraforming the planets and uplifting any creatures you design, however you like.
The Space Age is basically the end of the game. It is a large Sandbox where you can do whatever you want.

If you play as an aggressive race, I imagine the space game could be quite hard.

Spore, space phase, constant colony attacks?
I'm playing the video game spore right now. I'm at the space phase, and i want to explore and terraform planets ect, but my colonies get attacked every 2-3 minutes. Basically the entire phase has become really crappy UFO fighting.

Nope. It really sucks. The only way to stop the attacks is to either befriend or eliminate the civilization that's attacking you. If you get stuck and can't make enough money to keep fighting, I'd recommend that you start the space stage over.Spore, space phase, constant colony attacks?

Is there an easy way to find the mission planets you have to go to in the space stage of Spore?

First, check your filters in the bottom left corner of your screen. Make sure the "missions" button is yellow. This will turn on a guide to help you find where you need to go. Sometimes, you'll get a line with arrows that points to the planet. Other times, you'll get one or two circles. The star you need to go to will be within that circle. If there are two circles, it will be in the donut between the circles.

Unfortunately not. I've often wished I could change mine - because sometimes they do end up kind of ugly. Once you reach space, you are done evolving.
